ABOUT FOOS IN MEDICINE

Alexis Aleman and Irvin Garcia Real are two Latino, first-generation medical students who are no strangers to breaking down barriers and uplifting others while doing so. As two individuals who have faced their fair share of obstacles on the path to medicine, they understand the challenges that underrepresented minorities face in higher education, especially in the medical field. That's why they are committed to inspiring others and increasing the representation of people from disadvantaged backgrounds in medicine and beyond. As they strive for this, the Foos in Medicine also strive to positively impact the communities that have been often overlooked.
